Our founding
Erected in 1976, the diocese has experienced no jurisdictional changes and is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Capiz.
Our first bishop was Most Rev. +Juan N. Nilmar.
Bishop Reyes was appointed
Our second bishop was Most Rev. Gabriel V. Reyes, installed on January 12, 1993.
On November 2003
Most Rev. Jose Romeo Orquejo Lazo was appointed Bishop of Kalibo by Pope John Paul II on November 13, 2003.
Our fourth and present bishop
Most Rev. Jose Corazon T. Tala-oc, D.D., was appointed bishop of Kalibo on May 25, 2011.
